Hello, I’m Beau Wylie an Australian painter, storyteller and crafter of wondrous surreal colourful worlds! 

My art explores the unexpected and magical happenings found at the meeting of the human and natural worlds. With brilliant bursts of colour, weird eccentric characters and positive humour, I hope my work inspires in you the same curiosity and joy that it brings me when I’m making it. 

Growing up in an outer Sydney home surrounded by scraggly bush and tadpole filled creeks, I developed a deep love and curiosity for the natural world, and it was from this wonderous world of brilliant slippery frogs, scuttling yabbies and wide eyed marsupials that I found a lifetime of inspiration for my drawings and paintings. 

My mediums of choice are as eccentric and varied as my characters, and depending on my mood you’ll find me working in oil paints, acrylics, pastels, gouache, colour pencils, graphite and collage. 

I now live with my young family in Newcastle, in the traditional country of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples. You can find my work available today as original paintings, drawings, fine art prints, greeting cards, my illustrated children's books and much more.
